VA CIO Gauss Announces Resignation

On June 5, 2003, VA CIO John Gauss announced his resignation effective June 29, 2003. As CIO, Gauss was responsible for the development of an enterprise architecture and the consolidation of many VA IT systems.

Gauss, who previously spend 32 years with the Navy, cites personal reasons for leaving the VA.

Edward Meagher, VA Deputy CIO, will serve as acting CIO.
